April

We are swinging into Spring! Mrs. Chappell ordered a butterfly habitat and shared it with the kids. Wow! They were so excited. All day they ran over to see if the caterpillars were changing. We are learning about the weather and sky in this unit. The kids are going to be little scientists! So a couple weeks ago, I introduced the scientific method. The point of this lesson was to mainly teach them the steps of the scientific method which also correlated with the treasures curriculum. We will be starting a unit for living and nonliving things that includes that activities of planting seeds and completing experiments on what they need to grow. So, this experiment is a great way to transition into that unit. The experiment was using dye to show how plants absorb water. The kids loved coming in and observing the plants every day. I had them draw their observations and record the time and date as well. They are busy writing their steps to the scientific method.
