December

So, I am observing at the school to complete my 100 hours. I found out the most amazing news that I would be student teaching in 1st grade with my number one choice Mrs. Chappell! I am doing my happy dance! I decided to spend some extra time in the classroom getting to know the kids and the schedule. You can never be to prepared! After being in the class so much I decided I would have to make them something for a little Christmas gift. Of course, I have an 8 year old daughter in 2nd grade and a 5 year old son in Pre-K. This meant I had a lot of gifts to make. They both said they would help do theirs, but after about five they were over it.Here are some pics of my homemade gifts. The first one is hot coco reindeers. These were only made for my daughters class since they were older. We made right around 70 candy canes with my cute Dr. Seuss tags, a glow stick bracelet, and a pencil! In the first grade hall one of the amazing teachers, Mrs. Alvis made the cutest hall display. My picture was before she added all the reindeer and writing activities to the wall. However, it is so cute I have to add it. So, several months ago I received a call from my sister with a home school issue. Her son (the same age as mine) doesn't like to sit still for school work. Now.... keep in mind that he is 5 and starting Kindergarten. She has three kids that she teaches at home. She was stumped on hoe to interest him in school. So, I told her I interest Isaac by making it "super-hero" style. I made both boys a practice worksheet for writing their names. They LOVED it!!! The clipart I got off TPT. Here is the link to the store where I downloaded this awesome clip art! http://www.TeachersPayTeachers.com/Store/Teacher-Tam/Products.
