How cool are the teachers at this school!

I can't pass up the opportunity to take pictures of all of the amazing hall displays. Here are a few from the First Grade hall. Of course I can't forget to mention the sound effects! Yes, there is ocean sounds playing as you walk through. How cool is that? These amazing teachers are Jenney Alvis, Heather Worf, and our EA Christina.

My very first field trip!

What a fun day! It was my first field trip with our little first graders. Could they get any cuter? It was so exciting to see them recognize the fish we learned about during the ocean unit. It is amazing how much they remember. It is safe to say that the ocean unit was a HUGE success!I will be adding pictures of the the work they did soon. Here is one that I took of my son and daughter testing out my photo prop. I took a picture of the entire class posing with Sharky and created a door display with all of their pics. The title of the door display was First Grade Shark Bites! I was so proud because I came up with that one all on my own.

I am student teaching at an amazing school in New Mexico. I have observed at many of the schools with all different types of populations and I must say this one is #1. The teachers are motivated and put in the extra work to reach EVERY child in their classroom. The administration is AMAZING! I have never seen a more organized staff in this school district. I am so lucky that I was placed here. However, I am counting down the days until I complete my final assignment for University of Phoenix. I will officially have every hour in the day to pack and prepare for my classroom. We all know how much work we have to put into our classrooms. Especially a teacher starting out! 3 more weeks!!!!!! I am dreading leaving this school even with all the excitement of moving back closer to family. I will miss all the wonderful teachers and the students! Especially, my first graders and Mrs. Chappell!!!! It is time for me to start this terrific Thursday off with a bang. It is my very first field trip at the school. Wish me luck!!
